The Wal-Mart Effect

Here's an interesting tale (Fast Company) about the broad market, low-cost, retail empire our shirts will never be a part of, a great read.

"Wal-Mart isn't just the largest store in America, or the largest store in the world, or the largest employer in the world. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world -- and one of the most powerful."

Have you read the book yet?

Just curious if the book is any good?

A great book, highly suggested. The sections about how Wal-Mart drives prices down and the effect it has on the manufacturers is especially interesting and a bit disturbing. I wonder where quality and innovation play into that formula. Innovative ways to to do the same thing for less, maybe. True innovation and creative ideas to create new products, probably not.
