Ocean's 12

Tis the season for holiday fun. So the Shape of the Week honors go to that big rectangle known as the movie screen. Check out Ocean's 12, packed full of one-liners, tricks of the thief trade, big name actors, great music and style. Director Steven Soderbergh's take on editing, music and typography is a treat. Props for the sideways airplane landing sequence in a mass-market film that fit seamlessly into the editing and pace of the story.

Thanks to our recent orders from Sydney, Australia..Seattle and from AD in Chandler, AZ!

Ambient Orb

One of our favorite bands, The Orb as long had a special place in our hearts for such classics as The Blue Room, Assassin and the popular Little Puffy Clouds (yes, we love the celebratory Arizona desert references, but the song also rocks). So here comes a new type of orb out of the UK and it's our oft-anticipated Shape of the Week.

This ambient orb is a music visualizer, ebay notifyer, weather caster...data displayer where the light sequences appear.

Happy Holidays to all our new friends in Honolulu, San Francisco, San Diego, Boston, Arkansas, Pasadena, Miami..thanks to Chris at Design is Kinky as he links up Mister Shape, alright!

Cookie iPod

Over at The Mac Mind, they've cooked up a nice rendering of a rumored new iPod and it's our Shape of the Week.

Yes, the delicious shape of a Peppridge Farm Milano Cookie takes the cake this week. The 'no screen' issue needs to be addressed, but if anyone can do it - it's Steve Jobs and Apple's team of engineers and designers. Of course, this could be some fun vaporware...but the minimal design and elegant size tastes like Cupertino.

U2

Our Shape of the Week goes to a little black and red square that has provided us with some incredible music to work to this week. The latest from U2 - How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Even though the XM Radio and iTunes ads have killed the Vertigo single for us..the rest of the album is better. Nice mix of sounds from the previous album's feel and reminicent sonic exploits from the Joshua Tree era. Bono's vocals are heart-felt and fantstic. If you are in the Phoenix area, buy local at Stinkweeds.

Also..big thanks to our friends in Walnut Creek, CA and Gilbert, AZ for the recent orders!
